As pointed out by El Reg, its only actually early compared to its second planned delay. It was originally meant to come out in H1 2007, then got delayed to H2 2007, and then delayed again to H1 2008. So what Microsoft have done is beaten the second delay, but come in bang on target with respect to the first delay.
