I'd much rather get a Centro if I want a stodgy, but cool anyway smartphone.  Odds are when the Centro comes to Verizion, it will ALSO cost more. This piece of shit device crashes all the time for no reason and lags when responding to calls.  It's more trouble than it is useful.  I really recommend people skip this one.  I have this because my workplace paid for it and the plan. The Curve has everything that a business person needs and everything that the every day person can enjoy.  Email, phone, pin-to-pin, camera, Wi-fi, GPS with Garmin software... bla bla bla and to top it off, the Curve is sleek, stylish and does not look like a minature laptop hanging off the side of my hip. Things I'm happy with: Finally combine my separate PC card data plan and phone data plan into a single data plan (not have to pay double), 3G speed, re-use my wonderful TomTom GPS, Office document compatibility, re-use critical Palm apps I use daily, Voice Dialing and best US network coverage (IMHO).
