MP901 portable media player looks slapped together, probably is
Believe us, we've seen plenty of chintzy in our day, but Shenzhen Link-Create Technology's MP901 goes above and beyond the call of jankiness. This PMP -- which looks as if it were (and probably was) pieced together using whatever spare parts could be found around the plant -- sports a 2.4-inch LCD, a 1.3-megapixel camera, 128MB to 4GB of internal storage space, a T-Flash expansion slot, integrated microphone and an FM tuner. Additionally, you'll find a rechargeable Li-ion, support for NES emulation, built-in speaker and support for AVI, MPEG4, MP3, WMA, AAC and WAV file formats. Per usual, pricing remains a mystery, but considering that minimum order quantity of 500, we've no real interest in unearthing the truth.[Via PMPToday]

But will it blend?

Why on earth would someone want to mass order 500 of these with 128mb? Though it may seem "slapped together" the specs are lookin' pretty good. The question is how long it'll last before it explodes in my pocket...

Hmmm I don't know, you might want to sell them in a 3rd world country and make some good money.
Lotzosushi. @ Dec 24th 2007 2:10PM
Well, no offense in any way to those living in the so called "3rd world" but I hope they're smarter than to spend money on portable media players when they're in need of food/clothing/shelter/etc.
You know, just cause I'd rather be playing NES games than staying alive.
hooeezit @ Dec 24th 2007 3:06PM
Why is it that everytime someone mentions 3rd world, the only thing people think of is food/clothing/shelter. India and China are still considered 3rd world, and both are full of billionaires. In fact, 3 of the top 10 richest people in the world are Indian!
Please realize that 3rd world doesn't equate to sick and homeless. There are a lot of those, no doubt, but there also are very rich people. The difference is stark. And you can't just put all your money into giving the poor people food. Remember the saying: Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a life time. The poor people in 3rd world countries need information and awareness rather than food and shelter.
Sorry, but I had to rant. Obviously ignorant comments infuriate me.

Alright Confucius, I was only stating the fact towards Eleazar's comment that those who don't have enough money wouldn't be spending money on needless things such as PMP's.
Sorry, but I had to rant. Obviously misinterpreted comments infuriate me.

OOOOHHHHHH..... It's a Shenzhen Link-Create Technology product!
Well that makes me feel so much better!

I am still working on the definition of jankiness:
The state of being janky (same as junky?). Used to describe an amount or a level within that state.

That logo on the bottom left of the front face looks like a foobared version of a Windows logo.
GhostParticle @ Dec 26th 2007 12:59PM
Not surprisingly, China made junk PMP's sells a whole lot in developing (3rd world) countries...coz they're cheaper that the Ipod and rest. And its sucks more that we don't get Zune, IRiver, etc. Everywhere you go its either the Ipod or Creative...
