Cosina often makes low end products but usually under different brand names they own, like Phoneix etc. Why they choose to make expensive high end film cameras and awful low end digital camera's using the same brand name.... well, I don't know. Maybe their marketing department wanted a camera with a classy name so they could take pictures of themselves doing crack in the boardroom off strippers tits.
