I had the NV10 as well but it got dropped and I'm now sporting the NV7.  Both take pretty good picture and the menu system is pretty simple to get used to and is especially more handy when taking multiple pictures in manual modes where the light can be drastically different when you turn 45 degrees.  I found it pretty useful taking pictures in the wilderness and also in bars.  You can get good pics in auto-mode but you can access better effects and settings and things quickly with that system and it's really handy.  I'm humoring jumping up to this, I like it so much. Sheesh.  You can't even get the NV8 in the US yet, and they announced that a good long time ago.
