The Wireless USB packing
Toshiba Portege R400 makes an encore performance at CES 2008 in hopes of putting your bandwidth fears to rest. Pushing data at 377Mbps (of a theoretical 480Mbps at 3-meters), you're looking at 1,920 x 1,080 pixel video sourced from the R400 and displayed on a prototype WUSB monitor sitting a few inches away. Not bad, eh?

I can hardly hear a damn thing he said. There has to be a better way of hearing them and cut out the sound in the background.

Oh certainly there are ways, but not when you're filming w/ a damn cameraphone :/

That actually looks pretty cool, and while this has been around for quite some time now, I am excited to see that it works so well. Can't wait till I can walk into a room w/ my laptop and it automatically extends the desktop to all the displays in the room :)

Yeah, it's all great and sweet. However, if you are a sucker like me and bought the R400 after CES 2007 because you were so smitten by a demo just like this one... You got screwed!
Yes, my R400 is first gen and will never be able to connect to the UWB dock that was supposed to be for it. Early adopters shouldn't be.

Sweet, I can run multiple screens with less cables! Now where's the wireless power supply?
