I think this is a step in the right direction. With the invention of "Widescreen" display manufacturers have shown that they understand how human sight works (In the simplest terms; Side to Side, and not so much up and down) and this new display seems like the next evolution of that.

Having said all of that (Yes, I know, this post is getting long) I don't think I'd spend anything over a grand for this monitor. I currently have a 24" 1920x1200 monitor, and I could easily step up to one of those 30" monsters for about a grand (so why would I go for the wrap around?). I see this product being HUGE with the flight sim and race sim gamers, but for first person shooter gamers/RPG gamers? They are definitely using 4 DLP chips. There's also that "sweet spot is two feet away" issue. Eye burn/fatigue, anyone? The ideal distance to keep your from frying your retinas happens to be 3+ feet away.
