Step 2: Buy nostalgic toy at another garage sale.
Step 3: Rip guts out of tech, and stick tech guts into toy.
Step 4: Sell on eBay and/or show everybody on tech blogs how you can glue crap into other crap for nostalgia points.

Step 5: Watch as I roll my eyes as yet another "nostalgic toy with modern tech guts" item makes it way online, spurring fanboys into praising the "modder" for doing something nobody wanted done in the first place.

No, ZeroCorpse is right, sometimes these things just aren't worth mentioning.

An Xbox shoved into a Millenium Falcon... ok, that's cool for about a minute and is worthy of being shown and bragged about.

But a USB drive in a GI Joe? Here's why no one else has done it before: Because it's EASY. I think a mod is only worth mentioning if it shows effort and complexity.

It reminds me of the episode of Flight of the Conchords where Jermaine gets his camera phone stolen... it's an old Nokia glued to a cheap 35MM camera. LMAO. But knowing engadget, they would devote an article to such a camera-phone and give you the link to the how-to video.

Speaking of which, let me mention some products I will soon be selling on ebay:
- Play-Doh USB stick mod (custom to order, available in 7 colors, swirly colors extra; item may settle... or, uh flatten, during shipping)
- Styrofoam coffee cup USB HUB mod (also available in special edition Starbucks paper cup... once I finish my caramel macchiato)
- LED toilet paper holder (LEDs flash as you spin)
- Plush Garfield MP3 player/speaker mod. Mini-jack strategically placed, 2 inch speaker modded into mouth and player stores in the stomach. Fun for... well, no one really.

Anway, I don't want to totally crap all over someone's efforts. Good work, but no reason for us to gush in our panties over it. Go to Target and make your own, it's not gonna be that hard.
