Finally!! Epaper that looks like real paper!!! Now the Amazon Kindle Version 2 will be way better, and in color!!! (hold on a second) I have just been informed by my sibling that I'm a dumbass for thinking this is real e-paper. awaiting Engadget's response on the validity on this accusation.
I couldn't tell from the "spec sheet" on the gadget's website if this supports 14.4kbs modems for dial up handshaking to the internets? I've already ordered one through my aol account. I guess I can just hope and pray. I also couldn't tell if this was "Made in the U.S.A." but I'm assuming it is. You know, judging from its quality construction.

These pages smell like a latrine at halftime. Most of you loafers poo-poo the crapgadget and swish right by the flushwriting. What is this excrement called? Who excreted it? What market do they intend to drop it into? How many yuen are they straining to squeeze out of it? Has it passed into production runs, or is it a prototype that has yet to be squeezed into its consumer form? You can't tell from one picture and a glib comment whether a product is going to sink or float. Don't eliminate the crapgadgets yet -- they could start some real movements!

That's the crappiest thing I've ever seen. It looks like someone taped a picture to the back of an old RFID badge.
Wow.
Neoprimal @ Jan 11th 2008 8:47PM
It's a credit card sized mp3 player. Why does everyong keep referring to e-paper?
KC @ Jan 11th 2008 10:10PM
@Neoprimal, yeah, I just don't understand why no one else can see that it is a credit card sized DAP.
ozzzy @ Jan 17th 2008 6:30PM
Better yet an e-paper sized DAP. The business card is taped on for a size comparison.
Jewel Wanting @ Jan 11th 2008 4:56PM
Thumb ring or not, this one you can knock!
waiownsyou @ Jan 11th 2008 4:56PM
lmao!
Dave B @ Jan 11th 2008 4:58PM
Really? HA! That's some hilarity right there. Maybe it comes with rub-on letters to display which song you're 'listening' to.
superfresh @ Jan 11th 2008 4:58PM
I'm buying one for the "unusual degree space function" and "switch-off memory."
I've seen this before, though. Isn't it the iSuck?

Crapgadget indeed.
Xenoterranos @ Jan 11th 2008 5:01PM
FINALLY! A player that supports MP1, 2 AND 3 files!
Fess up guys, did you find this one in a toilet?
Dave B @ Jan 11th 2008 5:00PM
PS Sorry for the spam, never know if the thing still goes thru after displaying a 'connection error' page. alas.
John @ Jan 11th 2008 5:11PM
thank god it supports those wmv music files I've got.
Andir3.0 @ Jan 11th 2008 5:26PM
If you used an open standard to encode your files, you wouldn't have to worry about it.
Fernando @ Jan 11th 2008 5:32PM
lol, fail @ Andir3.0
ethana2 @ Jan 11th 2008 8:16PM
no. The industry failed. ogg ftw!
Brad @ Jan 12th 2008 3:51AM
Hah! Andir3.0 can't spot sarcasm when it slaps him in his apple-polishing face.
And just because a standard is "open" doesn't mean it's "adopted by everyone". Be less of a tool, Andir.
Dustin @ Jan 14th 2008 2:28AM
You all missed the goddamned point. WMV isn't audio, it's video!
Ethan @ Jan 11th 2008 5:12PM
Why would they present this to the scrutiny of the press when blatantly all it's good for is fobbing it of to those who don't know better.
Ray @ Jan 11th 2008 5:15PM
I think they just made this up to redeem themselves after repeatedly posting things people would actually like under crapgadget.
MearWolf @ Jan 11th 2008 5:29PM
i want one, it's all papery!
Fernando @ Jan 11th 2008 5:31PM
Yay, a sensible crapgadget news item!
fuma @ Jan 11th 2008 5:40PM
do want!
pete @ Jan 11th 2008 5:42PM
omg,the best news ever. does it play doom, by the way?
fuma @ Jan 11th 2008 5:41PM
WHOA... "unusual degree space function"!!!
MOAR DO WANT!!!
antscary @ Jan 11th 2008 5:44PM
Wow, yeah, that's pretty cheeseball. I agree with the comment that it looks just like an RFID card with a picture taped to it.
CynisterSix @ Jan 11th 2008 5:45PM
they missed the feature that the screen can flip over so you can write notes on the back of it.
John @ Jan 11th 2008 5:46PM
It also comes with a paper flipbook for watching videos.
michas_pi @ Jan 11th 2008 7:30PM
Your comment is drenched in winsauce.

Good_Bytes @ Jan 11th 2008 7:12PM
No MP4 support! This sucks, all my musics are in MP4
DarkLightConnection @ Jan 11th 2008 8:37PM
Isn't MP4 a video format?
Toon @ Jan 18th 2008 6:18AM
As is WMV.
Julian @ Jan 11th 2008 9:04PM
Love it! Where can I get one?!
