I see that bottom-to-top is winning in the poll, like it should. We have slow connections in India and it would be a relief if I didn't have to reload the whole page again and again. If the newest updates are at the top, I can stop the loading once the unread ones are loaded.

So, basically, please do it bottom-to-top and then reverse it later.
