Because I kinda like the idea of having all those input options. I don't own a television, partly because I'm currently in college and partly because I really couldn't give less of a damn about 98% of what is on tv these days. That said I do like video game consoles, though I don't have one of those either (last one was a sega genesis, and it got stolen, go figure). But I couldn't really get one and use it too well if I wanted to, the whole not having a television and only having a laptop thing hinders my display options a bit. I think it would be nice to have a monitor with all sorts of inputs so I could plug a console or anything else into it. I'm sure there is plenty of video equipment you could plug straight into this, especially older stuff, and considering the price of hidef media drives, it could even be nice to plug a normal Blu-Ray player into something like that. I don't think the inclusion of options that Joe PC User might not have a use for is anywhere nearly as brain dead of a desecion as the re-election of everyone's favorite least-favorite president was.

Firebird

Comments on

Why not have the inputs? One of my HC monitors too was plagued by this ghosting issue, but it's fairly easy to fix. I had color calibrated the monitors and turned up the red on one of them to 98%. By turning the red down to 96% (to match the settings of my second monitor), all my ghosting issues were gone. From what I've found, if you jack up all the brightness, contrast & color settings to max, then yes, you will have ghosting. Of course at those settings, everything else looks like crap too.

My main problem with the latest generation in design is that their stands lost about 3 inches in max height. It rocks the apple cinema display in terms of color accuracy and sharpness plus it has more inputs and outputs. I've never had a single ghosting issue with it, nor any other problems. BTW - I know color and good displays, it's my job as a graphic designer to keep my hardware proper. If this one bests the old model in any way possible, it owns almost any other monitor on the market.

Bakari
