I am about to use jailbreak procedure to downgrade it to 1.1.1 and then upgrade to 1.1.2 to enable itunes functionality. I want to know when software unlock is available at a later date, would I be required to restore my phone to v4.6 bootloader again? Also they have managed to Hardware unlock 1.1.3 phones but they havent managed to jailbreak those yet.

sony ericsson phones come unlocked from the website and many other places.. phones are pretty decent, not as feature packed (usually) as the nokia's but look alot better..

If you bought an iPhone from before week 45, you will have the old, unlockable bootloader, even if you have 1.1.2 firmware. You can follow the regular 1.1.1 unlock guide and have your phone working in 20 minutes.

I completely agree with you. I really do want an iPhone. But I ONLY want it on Verizon's network since Sprint is HORRIBLE. AT&T may be a good carrier/service but I think Verizon has a bigger network right?

Plus Verizon gives discounts to employees of certain companies.
