iriver hits a(nother) low note with Siren DP150
After witnessing iriver's gorgeous lineup in person at CES, we can't help but shed a tear each time one of these Siren DAPs taints the image a touch more. Nevertheless, the totally bland DP150 (the DP100's successor, by the way) weighs in at 24-grams, is available in pink, blue and gold motifs and will arrive in 1GB and 2GB forms. Users will also find a built-in equalizer, MP3 / WMA support and a 128 x 32 OLED display to boot. Sure, this critter will last for around 17 hours sans a recharge, and it is priced at just ¥6,980 ($65) / ¥8,980 ($84), but we still think know iriver could've done better than this. Yeah, so we've got high expectations -- like that's a bad thing?

if this player can record sound as good as H10, i'm sold.
So if the dp150 is shit and the Shuffle is better, are the writers of Endgadget fanboys? Almost double the battery life, a SCREEN, and no need for iTunes at a cheaper price. I'm getting an Insignia Kix soon and it's supposed to get ~30 hours battery :)and have a direct usb plug.
Not a single mention of Apple or iPods in the entire article and somehow this is a fanboy post? If you compare this little DAP against the slew of available players on the market, it comes up short against many different ones... the shuffle doesn't even come into play. Sounds like someone is needlessly bitter of a website they don't have to read.
I just want them to rather focus on making that iRiver Spinn so I can buy it! this year!
I think people bitch to much about stuff they want things to be, without really having the need to purchase them. iRivier is obviously a company that caters to every inch of the multimedia spectrum. And when I mean every inch, I mean...
4GB Creative Zen V Plus' are on Amazon right now for just $80. Twice the capacity, much better screen.
It's a no-brainer.

And it lasts 15 hours "sans a recharge" and only weighs 45g.
I still want some pricing and release details on that lovely iriver Volcano. Hope it's out soon...
iriver is the new apple. (well maybe i could have chosen a better post to praise them, but what the hell).
Well, calling them "the new Apple" is more of an insult really...
Hi-end MP3 players have seen their day, evidently, and targetted at us early adopting high spenders. All you budget conscious late adopters, your day has come.
The best mp3 players were made 2-4 years ago. They've become too fussy.
I have yet to hear an Mp3 player that sounds better than an iRiver. Who cares if it isn't a shiny piece of plastic if it performs and sounds great?
