The program you're referring to is the SERO program that is an employee referral program. Even so, just about everyone has that which is part of the reason why Sprint is losing so much money.

Face it sprint has the fewest number of subscriptions cause they suck. They are losing customers everyday to the big carriers like verizon and At&t. And they will cancel your account if you spend too much time roaming... which other carrier in the US has a roaming problem cause they dont have enough of their own coverage? As if that isn't enough what good phone does sprint offer? What people don't seem to understand is that not all signals are created equal. I have times when my EDGE connection is very quick and I am clearly bottlenecked by my mobile device's ability to render the page or the server I'm talking to. Other times it's slower than you can imagine. With a 3G network, you'll still have many places where the signal won't be so great and the speeds will be so-so.
