We'd rather watch a couple hours of Home Shopping Network than subject ourselves twice to these promo videos for Garmin's
nuvifone, but the "Scenario" video is at least worth a first viewing, since it provides a few action shots of the mail app, camera and (most importantly) browser in action. Don't get too excited, this isn't the tell-all we've been hoping for, but if you can't get enough nuvifone -- and who can? -- you can check out the videos after the break.

first one is really cheesy
CUBSWILLWIN @ Feb 6th 2008 9:29AM
second is too, just its better than the first for sure.
CUBSWILLWIN @ Feb 6th 2008 9:34AM
the first one actually looks like it has been made with windows movie maker.
LuhhMyStyle @ Feb 6th 2008 12:25PM
The only thing worse than a poor joke, is recycling someone else's poor joke.
Blaktornado @ Feb 6th 2008 1:46PM
Don't worry; we all get low ranked comments... sometimes...
CUBSWILLWIN @ Feb 6th 2008 3:25PM
are you saying im trying to copy someones joke? I'm just saying my thoughts. I don't know why I'm low ranked for that.
Drew @ Feb 6th 2008 9:29AM
"Suzy knows how to shop"
Holy Sexism Batman!
Erick @ Feb 6th 2008 9:47AM
Its meant to market to women who traditionally know how to shop.
Holy PC batman!
BrianB @ Feb 6th 2008 5:15PM
Do you think the 80s feel of these videos is a deliberate or what? Trying to recall better times, better economy?
BrianB @ Feb 6th 2008 5:16PM
sorry, I meant is a deliberate attempt to recall better times.
Cody @ Feb 6th 2008 9:35AM
yeah garmin nuvifone :)
Cody @ Feb 6th 2008 9:46AM
I will be selling my iPhone when this is released.
Mars @ Feb 6th 2008 9:53AM
Well, at that time iPhone has come in a new and improved model...we'll see if you realy will buy the Nuvi over the iPhone....or actually we won't :(
jimbo @ Feb 6th 2008 9:55AM
I'd think that one over. Go try out the horribly unresponsive touchscreen on the Garmin nuvi 760 or similar. You've got to hit the thing with a hammer to get anything out of it. If the phone has the same issues, I wouldn't go near it. It's insanely frustrating to type on, as you have to look up after each keystroke to see if it registered or not(and more often than not, it didn't).
Ireland @ Feb 6th 2008 11:53AM
Why not wait to here the price and see what iPhone's in the market is by then and decide?
16GB iPhone came out yesterday, this phone is due out September or October - so it's quite probable the 32GB GPS HSDPA iPhone will be out by then. Oh and judging by those views you've still yet to see this phone in action. All is it right now is a bunch a promises with no actual user interface.
Tim @ Feb 6th 2008 9:42AM
I like the slogan at the end of the 3rd video.
"Coming soon. An iPhone killer"
GeneMack @ Feb 6th 2008 9:50AM
I guess the big question if it can play nice with an Exchange server for email, calander and contacts. If it can, I may be sold. Bad part is I just bought a new nuvi 660.
steve2008a @ Feb 7th 2008 2:23AM
I'm sorry, but Nuvi 360's touchscreen interface is horrendous: They did a far better job in responsiveness and level of sophistication in their ique lines (which I love, by the way), which is ironic, considering that nuvi is a newer device. Problem with the nuvi's UI is that they "simplified" the display by showing *less* information. They took out many of the advanced functions but did not do anything to make the menu navigation any easier. The virtual keyboard is in alphabetical order for some odd reason, and the search function is so slow that it is nearly useless. It's too bad because I like the form factor of the device...I'm betting that they'll botch the UI in nuvifone as well...
Pouya @ Feb 6th 2008 11:26AM
I disagree. I own the Garmin 360 and have never had any issue whatsoever with the touch screen.
Le Master @ Feb 6th 2008 10:14AM
I'm rather see you fix the typo in the first line of this article.
zeebleoop @ Feb 6th 2008 10:25AM
I'd rather see you fix the typo in your comment before calling other people out on their typos.
rhogan @ Feb 6th 2008 10:35AM
zeebleoop = fail
Way to miss the obvious joke.
Le Master @ Feb 6th 2008 10:36AM
Woosh...right over your head.
OneLove @ Feb 6th 2008 10:29AM
Moviephone?
earbutter @ Feb 6th 2008 10:44AM
These are great. Seriously. I've had one for about eight months now and if you get a chance you should really...oh...wait...oh, never mind.
Pouya @ Feb 6th 2008 11:29AM
Sorry, for some reason Engadget posted my comment to the wrong reply. It was intended to be a reply to Jimbo above.
Pouya @ Feb 6th 2008 11:26AM
Very promising phone. Very cheesy videos.
Steffen Jobbs @ Feb 6th 2008 11:36AM
I wouldn't mind calling up Susie and having her for lunch, but they can keep the Nuvifone. I think the concept is nice for sure, but it's just a mockup, so it's capabilities don't mean very much at this point.
Ireland @ Feb 6th 2008 11:53AM
I like the way they aren't confident enough to demonstrate the UI, must be really really really good :P
Imran @ Feb 6th 2008 3:21PM
Put too much in and the Nuvi exploded. Why did they walk like soiled their pants in the 1st video? O_o
