CloudBook delays caused by the weather, ironically
According to DigiTimes, the reason we haven't seen any CloudBooks on sale is due to the weather. Recent heavy snowfalls in China wreaked havoc on the local rail systems and power supplies leaving FIC unable to meet their targets. According to "sources," retail shipments will now be pushed back to mid-March. Now our quandary. What's more dubious? Everex's newly posted 2/21/2008 availability date or China's claimed ability to control the weather during the summer olympics? Read -- Everex

Mmmmm, VaporBook.

If you read other sites which don't have a pre-determined bias toward the machine, you'll see that ZaReason has sold and shipped out a few shipments. So it is not vaporware anymore.

Just got mine last Satuday. I am in Switzerland and they sell those under the Packard Bell brand. It also comes with Windows XP instead of gOS. The design is a bit underwelming but it fits in my purse. Love it !

"Yeah, Um, thing is, just as we were about to ship it out, somehow the dog got a hold of the transfer order and ate it."

China: "We can control the weather!"
$DEITY: "O RLY?"
I bet the weather is positively craptastic for the entirety of the Olympic Games.

China claimed they can control the weather!? LOL. When was this? If you can do that, you're a god...
liusu119 @ Feb 20th 2008 11:03AM
Yes, China has claimed this since the 60's or 70's, but only for stop or delay rain fall.
It's basically using AA battery to shoot down incoming clouds.
This was on the TV, textbook, newspaper for many years in China.
I mean, if they can shoot down satellite, then how hard is it to shoot down cloud.
