The problem is Microsoft gives its developers minimum and recommended requirements. Most companies, like HTC, usually go the minimum route making WM seem extremely slow. Not only that, but many device manufacturers do not put the appropriate drivers onto their devices for WM. This adds an extra sluggishness. If it ran Android, or Maemo, or something comparable, I'd be all over this phone. Since it's an HTC phone, and I seem to recall that they were working with Google on an Android phone, I was hoping we might see an Android version of this one.

Heck, if it ran a proprietary platform other than winmo, like some of samsung's phones, I'd be all over it.

Qwerty keyboard, microSDHC, and will work with T-mobile 3G (so I hear) ... and it has a qwerty keyboard. The only other thing I need to hear is that it does bluetooth DUN. Sounds perfect. Then you find out it has winmo. *HURL*

No thanks. Hopefully whatever Android phone HTC and Google come up with will be as sexy as this one, instead of looking like the god-awful prototype we keep seeing in every google phone demo (with half of the face being a tiny screen, and the other half of the face having a qwerty keyboard, like a blackberry).

john

Comments on Sony Ericsson says XPERIA X1 is still on track for this year

So I take it you have actually used the Sony and an RTM Android phone and compared them to one another?
Err...or not.

Maestro

Comments on Sony Ericsson says XPERIA X1 is still on track for this year

Not at all surprised.
USEB is a very reliable source and the guy who writes it said when the list came to light that it was false.

SE said it would be along this year when it was unveiled and it's really too big of a product for them to let it slide.

Iain

Comments on Sony Ericsson says XPERIA X1 is still on track for this year

That still leaves the ultimate question... will it pla...err... how much is it going to cost?

rndmnme

Comments on Sony Ericsson says XPERIA X1 is still on track for this year

This platform will be the precursor to the PSP phone, watch!!

Frankenstein Black

Comments on Sony Ericsson says XPERIA X1 is still on track for this year

Wonderful news.
