All we need is more time for SSD's to become cheaper and gain hgher capacity.

And I'm glad this thing has 56K because some Engadget people laughed at me when I said that all laptops should have 56K. The world isn't standardized with broadband yet and in many situations there is no wifi available - while telephone lines are. This is f-ing HUGE compared to an Eee.

They're missing the whole point. The Eee is the size of a DVD player. This is the size of ... a typical laptop.

If it ends up with HSPA, Wifi, and bluetooth DUN, and vendor supported ubuntu ... I might have to give it a very serious look. Especially in comparison to the linux version of HP's 2133 UMPC.

The problem now though, is that I don't ever have a phone line available. All of the phones at work are those custom deals (fax machine there anyway), and I only have cell phones at home.

Still, it's nice to have a modem.



What I don't get is computers that don't have a serial port.
