People don't go out looking for an mp3 player, and then decide which one, they go out looking to buy an iPod.
No matter what features and price point SansDisk put in a device, they buying public is unlikely to have heard of it or want it.

Still my e280 works great. Though I would pick this up if it was released sooner. Wonder what will its features and capabilities will be?

The view's hardware is amazing. The software is terrible. That is SOOOO not true. A lot of people, including myself, bought the previous model of the Sansa line. They make a decent player and there is no lockin to iTunes for syncing your music. I know at least 3 non-geeks that have a Sansa and I've seen them "in the wild" numerous times.

It works infinitely better than the weak sansa software and makes bootup time about 6 seconds. Also I don't know about some other people's experiences, but I have been able to load both the player and my microsd card with simple drag and drop on the player. It may be something that rockbox does to the player but I doubt it, because it loads up the original software to load songs on.
