Boston Acoustics takes a shot with Duo-i iPod boombox
Believe it or not, the deluge of iPod sound systems has died down in the past couple of months, but that's not to say newcomers won't join the absolutely oversaturated market. Case in point: Boston Acoustics is offering up an AM / FM Stereo Radio with iPod dock, which packs a pair of 3.5-inch full-range drivers, BassTrac low-frequency processing, twin auxiliary ports for connecting other DAPs / PMPs, line and stereo headphone outputs and a fancy display that automatically adjusts to ambient light. Furthermore, you'll find dual independent alarm clocks, a "touch" (slam?) sensitive snooze bar and a wireless remote to keep your derriere planted. As for pricing, this one's pretty much par for the course at $199.99.

Where are all the speaker docks for the Zune 80???? I've only seen like one or two.

Just hook it into a decent stereo. Most today have AUX ports and offer far better sound.
These docks are just gimmicks. Everyone and their grandmother makes them.

People actually buy the Zune?? Wow, I thought it was just for show on Microsoft's part.

That's great and I'll bet that being a BA device, it sounds awesome. Now I just have to figure out what to do with the 3 iPod dock / clock radios that I already have around my house because companies started coming out with these things several years ago.
I wonder what has taken BA so long to come up with this one (?).
thanks,

Yup, I have a couple of their radios. Love the Recepter, but it's too bass-heavy for a typical bathroom. *Very* glad to see it (the Duo-i) has a way to decrease the bass (I guess they listen to comments, eh?).
About $170 @ Amazon, as I noted below.

I want one and luckily the ONE dock I have already bought just died so I can justify the upgrade. I have BA speakers in my sound system and I bet this sounds great.

BTW, Crutchfield (as usual) has a good series of photos (above, behind, etc.):

I am still waiting for an iPhone compatible alarm clock with shielded speakers. It's been almost a year.
Sony states that one of their alarm clocks is compatible, I went to a Sony store and tried it out with my phone. Nope, GSM interference messed with the speakers.
