Often not digital btw, but a large circulating drum with photofilm in it instead. That would be interesting to see a side to side with a real camcorder. I like the casio for high-def recording for three main reasons:
1. Ergonomics of putting the right hand on the hand grip and left hand on the barrel.
2. Left hand controls the big focusing ring.
3. Great big sensor is much larger than the one in the Canon, perhaps this will give us better low light; I hope so.

Note that the Casio also has a microphone shoe and a microphone jack. The casio records in a more computer file friendly format (MOV H.264), although I don't know the bandwidth.

A bunch of camera guys would like to see a side to side comparo with an SLR camera too, for what it's worth.
