AirLive AirMedia 3000 streamer does YouTube, too

We're not sure how the AirLive AirMedia 3000 "wireless multimedia server" accesses YouTube content without a browser -- unlike devices like the Apple TV and iPhone, it apparently plays the straight .flv files, which only show up on the website, we believe -- but if it does, chalk it up as one of the easier ways to watch dogs ride skateboards on your TV. Not much else in the way of details, but if this thing really is rocking Flash video support, we can see it carving out a solid little niche for itself.

er... if this *doesn't have a browser* ...then how exactly is it "one of the easier ways" to watch youtube on a tv?

wouldn't it be really difficult to watch youtube videos if you had no way of finding them? (or worse, were expected to download .flv files?)

Also, my prediction is that flash video become irrelevant before this "carves out a niche"

Youtube has RSS feeds, which helps in retrieving the correct file. If you can't use the RSS Feeds, you can still use regular expressions.

Well, it will obviously just read the rss feeds and have its own interface to search/browse. Doesn't require an html renderer.

i was assuming we were using the term "browser" to mean "some sort of interface for browsing"

I forget the name of the program, but there is one out there that let's you strip music and video from .swf (which is what youtube is) to your desktop. It doesn't save anything after the video, like the menus or the "related videos" section. If I find it again, I'll post it.
