As the consumer, you should welcome any and all competition. Unless you actually like paying more for your gadgets. More serious competition is what the industry needs. Nobody is doing much as far as innovation goes. The last major step was so long ago when Archos started making a decent PMP with touch screen and WiFi, and then after a while Apple followed suit and did the same thing and added it to a phone (and then came out with the touch).

The more companies that enter the market the more the major market share leaders are forced to try and innovate and keep that market share. I'm pointing out the obvious here, but apparently it sounds like it may not be that obvious to some. Players in Asia are inexpensive because they have to be. (Yes I know a lot of them are crappy, too, but a lot of them are quality too)

anonymouspimp

Comments on Polaroid intros 60GB Freescape 4360 WiFi-enabled PMP

Why do companies keep making PMPs with 4.3" 480 x 272 screens? 800x480 is the norm in Archos and Cowon players.

fischju

Comments on Polaroid intros 60GB Freescape 4360 WiFi-enabled PMP

Where's the slot the picture comes out of?

For that matter, where's the camera?

Craig

Comments on Polaroid intros 60GB Freescape 4360 WiFi-enabled PMP

every market needs a ceiling and a bottom... and fortunately polaroid is that bottom we all so desperately need.

MrGuru

Comments on Polaroid intros 60GB Freescape 4360 WiFi-enabled PMP

All that's left is the picture frame, the set-top boxes already passed FCC:

https://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/ViewExhibitReport.cfm?mode=Exhibits&calledFromFrame=N&application_id=804872&fcc_id='BJM-KHA01651B'

https://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/ViewExhibitReport.cfm?mode=Exhibits&calledFromFrame=N&application_id=557700&fcc_id='BJM-STB2200'

Toadlet

Comments on Polaroid intros 60GB Freescape 4360 WiFi-enabled PMP

i like this web side
please i just create in my user

thansk
ayush malla

ayush.malla20

Comments on Polaroid intros 60GB Freescape 4360 WiFi-enabled PMP

Yeah, Polaroid, right...
