Yes, it will be a bit of an issue. Average weight in 2002 for male adults was 191 lbs. It's probably gone up a little by now, near 200 I would bet. Hmm...I can't find the statistics I'm looking for, but I wouldn't be suprised if 10% of the American people weigh 300lbs.+ This also can vary greatly by region something instereting I turned up was the percent of obese people by state and how it's changed over the years:

So yes, we have a lot of fatties here in the US.
