Sanyo brings "smallest and lightest" XGA projector to these shores

It looks like it's not only those in Japan that'll be able to get their hands on what's purported to be the "industry's smallest and lightest XGA projector," with Sanyo now also announcing that its diminutive PLC-XW60 LCD projector will soon be available 'round these parts as well. Most importantly, the price has also received a rather steep cut from the direct Yen to dollar conversion, with it now boasting an MSRP of just $795. That'll still get you the very same 3.6-pound projector, however, which packs a respectable 2,000 lumens of brightness, a 400:1 contrast ratio, component, composite and VGA inputs, and, last but not least, a built-in 1 watt mono speaker. Look for it to hit all the usual sources sometime next month.

I could be a jerk and just leave it at that and let you google it - but it translates to 1024 × 768 pixels.

Thank You, My Epson has 800 x 600 so I'm looking to find a replacement. Thank You, I guess I could have googled it, duh LOL. Thank for not being a "jerk" ;-)

When I was getting a new TV, I couldn't decide on HD LCD or a big projector (Going on size instead of quality). I chose the LCD.

I guess this is news.
The Sanyo is 1024x768, 2000 Lumens

The InFocus LP70+ is also 1024x768 but its only 2.9lbs, though the Lumens is less maybe 1400+/- Lumens. I bought one 2-3 years ago.
I guess it wasn't brought to these shores, its from here.
I believe its smaller in size dimensionally too.

This is just a normal small projector. Smaller ones have been around for years. They exist today at lower weight and and same or near same lumens.
NOts ure why this is posted...seems like a lot of marketing spin.

my school has one of these. It's bright, light, and very easy to take around. One day, some grade 1 children were playing around and knocked the projector on the floor. To my surprise, the unit still worked. So at least for that, I'd say this projector's allright.

Dell's M209X Beamer is smaller (2303 cm3 vs 2729 cm3) and lighter (2.6lbs vs 3.6lbs)... Same resolution, same luminosity, much higher contrast (1800:1 vs 400:1).
