The LP teams aren't fools. If you steal from the store, they usually have plenty of ways to figure out who you were and when you did it. They've got digital cameras in the stores, reciepts, time sheets, everything you could imagine. I doubt Apple stores would be any different.

When I was in BBY for example, they were losing "crates" of Motorola Razrs which had to have been done in the recieving department since they do a thorough job of ensuring the floors are controlled and employees don't have anywhere to hide items.

What amuses me is that these are not the only shenanigans that have happened at this store. ... so it seems that selling them all to one person wasn't really a bad idea, and they may have even had the person lined up as a buyer before stealing the phones, and if thats the case, then I would imagine that they could bring him down by affiliation.
