Not everyone in the world runs their power on 60Hz, most of Europe and Oceania use 50Hz cycles. So most SD TV in Europe is broadcast in 50 Hz interlaced format.  I think the high def TV is also broadcast at 50 Hz for both 1080 and 720.<br><br>As a result, most TVs here that do the whole calculating an intermediate frame will be running with 100 Hz picture. The ratio needs to mutiples of 12 for converstion of the 24 frames of film.
