New Second Life release candidate viewer: 1.20(RC3)

Linden Lab has released the fourth 1.20 Second Life release candidate viewer. Release candidates start counting from zero, so the first one in the series is RC0.

Apparently we're back onto one-release-candidate-per-week, which will no-doubt please some and irritate others. Each new release candidate is a mandatory update from the previous release candidate.

Most of the fixes in this look relatively minor, though apparently there might be some issues with the voice component. Issues with UI window sizes after startup appear to have been fixes, and some lossless texture-compression bugs, among others.

Fixes:

  • Fixed: VWR-380: Resized Flexible Prims Render Improperly

  • Fixed: VWR-2404: lossless texture compression on small textures not lossless

  • Fixed: VWR-5080: Certain color combinations hard on visually impaired (and the not-visually-impaired)

  • Fixed: VWR-6275: Character runs when not supposed to.

  • Fixed: VWR-6301: Pulsating/glowing/fading outlines when building.

  • Fixed: removed mac release notes dialog from LLAppviewer::init

  • Fixed: Scrollbar channel missing in 1.20

  • Fixed: Window opens large, then small, then large on startup

  • Fixed: Imposters sometimes render without attachments

  • Fixed: Yellow edit outline detached from selected prim

  • Language tweaks to World Map UI

  • Fixed: Help > Tutorial makes the world disappear

  • Fixed: Help > Tutorial kills the keyboard.

  • Fix for vibrating name tags.

  • Fixed issue with mozilla scrollbars

  • Fixed: Background and Foreground color are the same in all scroll lists

Localization Fixes:

  • Fixed: main Toolbar will not match to its Korean localization xml

  • Fixed: erroneous German translation for Active Speakers

Release candidate viewers access your live account on the main Second Life grid (Agni). Potentially they may cause hair-loss in pets, and should be always be kept out of reach of children. The downloads are served by Amazon's S3 service and we use and recommend the use of a download manager to keep your download times to a minimum.

You can download this viewer from the usual place. The download for Windows is 34MB, Mac OSX is 72MB, and Linux is 55MB.
