Personally, I could care less about a PS3slim anyway, it's not like I carry it around with me. The 45nm cell must not need a lot of cooling. My 90nm beast sure gets hot. I'm glad it has a heatsink with more engineering than all of what went into the 360.

The cooling system in the PS3 is a bit out of whack, and the size of the CPU in the PS3 doesn't have much to do with it, considering that a single core of any CPU isn't going to produce as much heat as 3. The heat sink in the PS3 is all over the place and hardly efficient. Too bad its the most power-hungry, consumes 200 watts compared to 160 for the 40gb (without PS2 hardware).

The newer consoles, with the 65nm Cell, etc. consume (and put out) 70 W less than the original version...so of course the newer heat sink can keep it cool.
