get the latest S60 phone (N95, E65) next to the latest S40 phone (6500, say), and press the left direction button (which creates a new text, for those unfamiliar). while the S40 phone instantaneously goes to the new text screen, the S60 phone will still be loading all the APIs and display elements of all the things required for the 'create text' screen. it takes 2-5 seconds, every time. 'loading' the main menu is the same, 'loading' the contacts, it's all very fragile feeling. S40 can't do blackberry style email or multitasking, but it does work as a phone.

I decided to finally try out s60 with the nokia e51. I have to say, it's incredibly responsive, easily as fast as my old 6233. Nope... Current S60 has a set delay on the left key in the standby screen. It is waiting to see whether you press the keylock ("left key" + *).
