The system is also connected to the phone and outlook adressbook, so it can show "incomming transmission", when receiving a call. Crestron, AMX, HAI, Elan and Control4 run on proprietary software. Savant runs on OSX. It is the newer products from Niveus, and Life|Ware that run on Windows, and I'm also staying away from that.
