I just came back from Windows Server training IV and managing a Windows Server is a F*CKIN NIGHTMARE.

Apple's Tiger Server got me managing a server in less than 3 weeks - without reading any literature (just a few demonstrations). If I was setting up a server, it would have to be a Tiger Server.
Leopard Server is good but I don't like how Apple changed the Workgroup Manager - even though Remote Desktop works great.


If you were buying this mobile server the only way I see it being beneficial is if you are setting up LAN parties in different college dorms.

Besides, Windows is pretty much the standard in the business world. OS X or *nix still doesn't exactly play perfectly when on a domain. AD is very powerful, but OS X and *nix have limited support that defeat the purpose.

Windows is only the standard server in the business world when it comes to Exchange, and Exchange admins tend to be suicidal.

I don't know a single Windows admin that isn't learning Unix. I don't know a single Unix admin that wants to touch Windows with a 10 foot pole.

Windows simply isn't a good platform for servers that require consistent operation, availability, and manageability.

Just kidding. I'd go with a compromise. I mean who needs this seriously?

A gamer would go with a extreme mobile CPU, the graphics are OK.
A network specialist would go for a Xeon (even I haven't heard of one who needs that in a laptop) but then again why this GPU?
An enthusiast wouldn't take that with him, so you can get a cheaper desktop with the same specs.

Is that really a toy for heavily overspoiled kids? Or just a demo to see what's possible?
