With this product, all they have to do is to have the money to spend.<br>While I'm not really sure about the Russians, I've seen so many wealthy Chinese wearing Prada shirt with mis-matching Gucci pants and carrying LV bags. Utter junk.<br><br>I can almost start to understand if it's something you can actually sorta use like a pair of shoes, where workmanship *might* matter (assuming it's not mass-produced junk like the stuff at 1/10th the price).<br><br>This goes double for those bug-eyed fugly sunglasses where the designer's label is bigger than the actual lenses (which are, in turn, larger than the wearer's entire head).<br><br>Sorry honey, not impressed. I don't really care if people don't share my interest in performance cars and well-thought-out operating systems.  I don't care that my Macs are desktops so I can't pimp them at the local trendy coffee shop, nor do I care if some Apple fanboi gives me crap because I have a Dell monitor instead of an overpriced, under-featured Apple one.<br><br>If you're of the opinion that $1000 "designer" purses have inherent value other than the label, that's your problem, not mine.  Anybody who buys a product for the brand name deserves equal scorn.  The difference is, some companies make good products and some don't.<br><br>I consider the Apple logo fair warning.  If a Windows fanboy wants to discount my opinion on some Apple matter just because I tend to like Apple products, then it allows them to do so. Fortunately my cars have been too old, or had too few seats to be so blighted.  Most modern car I've ever owned is a 2000 model, and my current ride has fewer electronics than my now-13-year-old M3 did.<br><br>On your topic, though, when I have driven cars with iDrive, I find it works okay.  Certainly the too-many-buttons problem needed to be solved, though I think a touchscreen (like the Japanese makes tend to use) work better.  For that matter, most Japanese electronics are better than what the Germans or Americans put into their cars.  I'll probably get low-ranked for this, but BMW should not have used Microsoft in this (or any) application.
