but there are still a lot of people saying that the current 5d is a great camera (which im sure it is) and that it isnt really worth waiting for an upgrade if you have a need for it now.

Alex - I agree. I'm pretty close to buying the 5D, but only because I can't be definite when the MkII comes out. The 5D is truly a formidable camera in it's own right, but those who can wait for the purchase should - even if just to see what new features are included that might help the shooting go quicker, easier, and better.

Live-view's a definite, better sensor's a definite, sensor cleaning's a definite, perhaps some weather sealing to top it off? But will any of these and the unannounced features be worth a ~$1500+ premium over the old model? I remember way back in mid 2006 when I bought mine, I thought about waiting because there was rumors that a updated version of the 5D was gonna be coming out soon so the price on the original 5D would drop.
