I've heard cases in which people updated but had to do reinstalls or patch another disk. Safari is just now using over 300M of real memory. But I have seen it at 1GB (real!), Mail.app at 700MB, SystemUIServer at 300MB, and just now I see kernel_task at an unhealthy-looking 250MB.<br><br>OS X is super stable (*) but tons of apps and even system tasks seem to have memory leaks. <br><br>(*) At least after I used FontBook to validate all my fonts and kick all those out that had errors. As more apps request RAM you'll see Safari use less than a GB. Why have empty RAM that you aren't using when an App can use the most it can? Vista does it a bit differently, it caches startup files for programs so they are faster to load up. I asked "why is the app using 100% of the processor and so much memory" his reply was...
