Intel gets early hands-on with Intel-based ASUS M70VM
Looks like Intel and ASUS are gearing up to demo some Centrino 2 (Montevina) gear at Computex, as Intel's Senior Technical Marketing Engineer for Corporate Demonstrations blogged on Intel's site about running around using the yet-unreleased M51VA with WiMAX in Taipei. Sounds like he sure is enjoying the hardware his company produced, even despite the recent delays which are keeping it out of the hands of non-Intel folk like you and us.

Very cool looking. I still think that gaming notebooks are overrated because of the crazy amount of hardware in them that makes the battery life suck. Nonetheless I would still go buy one just because its better than desktops.

Ahh, DoTa.... Good ol' DoTa. The game that started it all. Funny thing is that Dota came out in like 2002, and it is STILL heavily played. I remember playing back in 2002 and just loving the shit out that game. I played me some Dota just 2 days ago. Damn, I've honestly played over like +5000 plus games on that damn thing.
Anywho they need to do is come out with WC4 (if ever) and hook that shit up with some Dota. It's time to revitalize the darn franchise! LONG LIVE THE SENT!!!!

My good god.
Talk about fanboyish.
Your not running games on a Mac, a Mac is Intel hardware running OSX, your running games on a normal windows based PC in a fancy case.
If I take your definition, I can take my pc apart, stick it inside a cake, lets say, and say I was gaming on a dam cake!
I don't remember the specs on a iMac, but the graphics cards are general pathetic!
If you want a Mac, get a dam mac, but don't go claiming you can game on it, because quite simply they are underpowered and overpriced for that purpose (I build my gaming rig for quite possibly less than your iMac cost).
I don't personal like OSX, it isn't to my taste, and it cant do half of what I want it to do, but I can see why people like it, but, apple would have to change something VERY major to get to where Windows is today.
clak @ Jun 1st 2008 10:51PM
@Angus Hedger
What the hell is wrong with you Windows people? I thought you guys were so much smarter than the average Mac user. You can't even hit the right reply button.
And just for a little background, I used to be a Windows user. I've built about 8 computers in my time, had every version of Windows since version 3.1, except for Windows ME. Hell, I even had Windows 2000.
Okay, so I know all about video cards and what PCs can do. How in the hell is my Mac Pro underpowered? I have a 3.2 Quad-Core Intel Xeon, four gigabytes of RAM, and a Nvidia Geforece 88000 GT 512MB. The closest thing in the PC world would have cost me 1000 more, for exactly the same specs. I looked at a HP Blackbird and a Dell XPS before I bought my Mac.
This was months ago, but at the time, they were more expensive. And don't give the crap about building my own. I've burnt out enough motherboards in my time because electrostatic damage, even though I used an anti-static wrist strap and mat to ground me out. The whole build your own scene is just dead to me and frankly, I'm don't have time for that shit.
Anyway, what it is that you can't do with a Mac that you can do with Windows? I do all the things I used to do as a Mac user. I get on the internet, play games, write e-mail, word process, bit torrent, design web sites. Hell, I actually do more. You can't get Final Cut Pro for a PC and the professional version of Avid is WAY overpriced, so what are all these things that you "CAN'T" do on a Mac? I'm not trying to argue, I'm just asking.
Spoiler: Darth Vader is Luke's father!

Looks to me that you're bad at building computers.
I've built about 20 computers so far this year, all running perfectly fine. I'm a 16 year old kid, and I've been doing this since I was 14. I think you need to learn how to properly build computers.
Oh, by the way, I have NEVER worn an anti-static wrist band. Oh and I built by self a machine just like yours, except it was with an 8800GT with ONE GB of ram. By computer runs Mac OSX Leopard just fine, along with Windows XP. Oh and my Quad core is running at 3.6Ghz, what about you?
This was about 4 months ago, and guess how much it cost me? 900. I also get 3 year warranty on my CPU and motherboard, and lifetime on my Video Card, Case and PSU.

You know what's really great about these videos? Just about all of them are running on iMacs, the mid level Mac. That kind of kills the argument of all those idiots who say, "Apple hardware sucks. Macs can't run Crysis, blah, blah, blah." I have a Mac Pro. So of course, it blows those iMacs away.
Hell, I didn't think much of Gears of War until I saw this video. I think I may pick this up tomorrow. I got nothing against Windows games, because they really don't have much to do with Microsoft, except for the money that Microsoft slipped Epic for GOW, but that's okay, I'll overlook it this one time.

Doom 3 on a Mac
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNC-a2Ymjqs
I installed XP in boot camp for my sister, just in case she needed it on her iMac, and she hasn't used it once. My nine year old niece, on the other hand, likes to play games, but what the hell am I gonna buy her, even in Boot Camp? Gears of War, Grand Theft Auto, Doom 3? Hell no.
That's biggest problem with Games for Windows. There are almost no games for people under thirteen. So I found a SNES emulator made for OS X. Now she plays all the Super Mario Brother games, 1, 2, 3, Mario World 1, Mario World 2 and a bunch of other games from SNES. She loves it.
Eventually, though, I know she will want a console. And what am I gonna buy her? A fucking Xbox 360? You think I wanna explain to a nine-year-old why there's a Red Ring on her console? Hell no. I'll probably buy her a Wii next Christmas, since she's already been introduced to the Mario World.

clak, every single one of those games is being run on a mac, but, while running windows XP via bootcamp. so technically, they are just being run on a windows PC, and at about 3-4 times the cost of just buying one with windows preinstalled, or building it yourself.
We have dell, hp, acer, asus, apple etc.., or you could build it yourself, no matter what, it is still a pc, using standard pc parts. It's not like a mac is something special, no, it's still using the same parts as any other windows or linux based pc, and when you install windows on it using bootcamp or whatever, then it becomes a windows pc at an insanely high price. buying an apple PC just to run windows on it, and play games, is almost like buying a voodoo pc, is it any better than far cheaper computers? nope, but it does cost more so it must be better right?
most of the games you listed were created in DirectX ONLY.. they do not, and will never run in OSX because DirectX is a product of microsoft.
Oh, and lastly, I just don't understand mac users.. I've used OSX for a few hours, and don't see what's so good about it. Linux can be setup to run just like osx, but you dont have to worry about overpriced , un-upgradable hardware. And with windows, not only can you upgrade your pc at a FAR lower price, but you have the assurance of knowing that you can run 99.99999% of all software & hardware on it. And about the viruses thing, well the ratio of pcs running OSX to those running windows is around 100 to 0.05 so this figure is quite obvious which hackers would want to target.
Again, if you didn't understand above because your so high strung on defending your overpriced purchase... When you install windows on a MAC pc, it becomes a windows PC..
