E-Lead's Noahpad shows up with larger keys, multi-touch

Though we're really no closer to figuring out the master plan behind E-Lead's perplexing Noahpad, at least the company is warming up to the idea of a more usable keyboard (of sorts). Judging by the demo unit set up at Computex, the keys are now a tad larger and multi-touch support is also thrown in. If you just can't get enough of one of today's most eccentric lappies, head on down to the read link for a smattering of hands-on photographs and a trio of videos.

Ugliest, most pointless, most confusing thing I've ever seen.
How can you even type on that? Why is the keyboard divided? Imagine typing with every key directly below the next. There's a reason the keys are spaced the way they are, and even if there wasn't, it's what we're used to.

which I bought after I started feeling pain in my wrists while typing. The change was rather successful, though took a week getting used to.
The only reason the keys are staggered is because of typewriters, which used little 'hammers' to hit the page, and had to be staggered to not overlap... It is actually less tiring to not to have to unnaturally twist your hands counter-clockwise to be able to type "y" and "b", and would prevent quite a bit of carpel tunnel...
Now just give me an eee 1000 with a keyboard like that and I'll be happy... :-)

the reason for the ugly looking keyboard is because the whole keyboard is a touch pad. I think it's separated into 2 touchpads, which explains the divider in the middle. it doesn't have real multitouch capability, i think it's just using the two trackpads in conjunction.

either way, it's not very appealing.
