Live Musician: Harmonia Trefoil

Harmonia Trefoil, who in real life has been singing for most of her life just for fun, has found that she also enjoys singing for an audience. She has been performing in Second Life since January this year, and her keenness for the task is evident from her generous and interested audience participation. In real life, she has had great success at "open mic" performances, and is working with her accompanist on doing feature performances.

We went to catch Trefoil's show at the Lost Vegas Club, at 6PM SLT (US Pacific time) on Sunday.

Trefoil's midwestern American accent gives a lovely flavor to her clear and simple singing style. There is a strength to her voice that she keeps in reserve for her big notes, crescendos, and finishes. Her pitch and timing are accurate. When occasional IMs and chatter set her to laughing, she's able to recover soundly and smoothly. She knows her chosen material very well; she has a list of some 90 or so songs which, at her performance at the Lost Vegas Club, she asked her audience to select from when they were making requests.

Her musical fare tends to range from pop songs from the 60's and 70's, country music, oldies and songs from the Great American Songbook. This mix creates a mostly soft, romantic ambience, spiced up with a couple of film songs from big, splashy musicals. She is also happy to tailor her mix to specification.

Harmonia's main performance venue is the Grand Venus Ballroom at SL Paradise Sea to Sky Resort, Tuesdays at 8pm SLT and again on Saturdays at 8pm SLT, and sometimes for impromptu performances during the week. She plays the Lost Vegas Club at 6pm SLT every Sunday, and the Midnight Romance Club every Friday at 9pm SLT. She has also been known to frequent the Lilypad Lounge, and has had numerous individual shows across the grid. She sends out messages regarding her performances on the "Live Music Enthusiasts" group channel, and on her own "Harmonia Trefoil's Fan Club" group channel.
