Toshiba can go screw themselves if it is more expensive. My last laptop was a Toshiba (I forget the model number), and it had a built in sub, with harmon kardon speakers. I thought it was just a gimmick at first, but man, that was the best sounding laptop I've ever heard. The speakers could crank up without sounding distorted, and while it didn't shake the house, the little sub really did put off good lows.

I took it apart and discovered that they used an interesting ducting trick though the case to give the sub much more 'boom' than you'd expect with a little laptop speaker.

I love my Asus laptop now, but the speakers are tinny and a big let down compared to my old Toshiba.

Steve A.

Comments on Toshiba intros Qosmio G55, X305 and F55 gaming laptops

Great news, so will the G45 price go down?

Pentium

Comments on Toshiba intros Qosmio G55, X305 and F55 gaming laptops

I'll definitely be keeping my eye on these when they are released in a month. I'm a film student and current laptop cant keep up with the HD cameras we're now using for filming and plus the thing is absolutly falling apart and crashing (just turns of with a click pop) when i try and do any more than one thing at a time. Its a HP Pavilion DV8000, lovely laptop when i got it but the more hateful thing in the world now!!! Anyways I live in N.Ireland, UK, and have be searching for information regarding a european release date as due to export laws or something i cant order one for the states. I need a new laptop badly by the time uni starts again in september so i wondering if anyone has any idea if this machine is likely to be released to us Europeans anytime soon or would i be better off looking elsewhere? Any info be really appreciated! I bought the G55-Q802 and the 18.4 inch display is dazzling! It handles WoW with not trouble, the hard drive's total 500 GB which is massive, the unit just barely gets warm (compared to my Acer Aspire 3000 which you could amlost cook on), it's fast, it's quiet, and it's an all-around nice unit.

On the downside, the keyboard is glossy and shows fingerprints instantly, it's a large laptop (duh), and at 10.8 pounds it's a pretty hefty "portable" but I wanted a larger display and for my needs this was a perfect fit. I was considering a Dell Studio 17 also.

I read somewhere that buying from Toshiba directly was a mistake so I purchased mine from www.computers4sure.com and they shipped same-day via UPS Ground from the east coast and I had it in 2 days (but it currently shows out of stock on their site).

My video review of this laptop can be found at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvdGtkmo7oE Good Luck!

Scott Rayne
