But its puzzling that the Z series has no media buttons unlike the FW and SR considering it has an HDMI port and presumably, a Blu-Ray drive option.

With the introduction of all these new inexpensive "subnotebooks" around now Sony will need to be on top of their game with the new Z. For starters, it has a 16:9 widescreen display, its design is more compact than the SZ. It'll have better performance, battery life and HDMI out as well.
