Why do they keep coming up with oddly-shaped components that ruin the flow of other units in your entertainment set. The PS3 is horrible because you can't stack anything on top of it. The Xbox360 is a little better because you can place something on top of it. And now, Sony comes out with this monstrosity that I have a hard time figuring out what they based their design on. I have my 360 on top of my original Xbox and it works great. However, I can't put anything on top of my PS3 because, well we all know why. Why do they have to make their components so poorly shaped. So they can go on top of everything else? Now Sony leaves you no choice but to place this Oreo-shaped thing on top of everything else. Maybe I should try placing it on top of my PS3 and mail a picture of the mess to Sony.

Rob

Comments on Sony unloads two new VGX-TP1 media center PCs

Almost $2000 ?

That's ridiculous if its only coming with 2GB of RAM.

If I was at SONY, I'd give you 4GB of RAM + a Nvidia "280" so out of the box you could play CRYSIS...for that same $2000.

The size of the HD: 200GB, 250GB, 500GB etc would be YOUR CHOICE.

Flashpoint

Comments on Sony unloads two new VGX-TP1 media center PCs

The next person who mentions an HTPC's (or any any PC, for that matter) ability to play Crysis, will be assumed to have 6.5 biological fathers.

AJ

Comments on Sony unloads two new VGX-TP1 media center PCs

sony computers have historically been more style over substance.

inexplicably they went flipside with the PS3 though...

smash579

Comments on Sony unloads two new VGX-TP1 media center PCs

That really is a bit much. I still have my old Sony Vaio desktop (back then they came in the normal shape) that I got for about $900. What did I get? 3Ghz Pentium 4, 512MB RAM, 200GB HDD, Card Reader, the whole works. That Sony is overpricing this is obvious; I don't know why though. I'm pretty disappointed. I would really buy a VAIO again, but now they're way too expensive. And they come in that ridiculous circle shape which I honestly can't logically fit anywhere. It's a shame they seem to have stopped marketing to the average PC buyer.

Mel

Comments on Sony unloads two new VGX-TP1 media center PCs

It's a SONY, what did you expect?

@ AJ

SONY designers are assumed to have 6.5 fathers.

skulldriveshaft

Comments on Sony unloads two new VGX-TP1 media center PCs

I wish the ps3 looked like that.

BobTurbo

Comments on Sony unloads two new VGX-TP1 media center PCs

Looks just like the Windows Home Server prototype.

http://www.manlong.net/wp-content/uploads/2007/01/windowshomeserver.jpg

yaksplat

Comments on Sony unloads two new VGX-TP1 media center PCs

Well its a good thing Sony decided to leave off the giant white stripe in the middle, because who really wants a giant Oreo sittng in their entertainment center?

kal326

Comments on Sony unloads two new VGX-TP1 media center PCs

That's not a computer.
