If anyone here can do math that means out of the 5.21 million PS3's sold in America, about 4.5 and more are watching blu-ray. <br>Or what they think is Blu-Ray. <br>Or maybe this could be true, and therfore being PS3's worst nightmare... that people bought the system as a Blu-Ray player, but they don't buy any blu-rays (Rent) or buy any games to help sony recoup their 3.3 Billion Lost in the PS3.<br><br>This survey would have some legs if they asked how many Blu-Ray movies you own and how often do you watch a Blu-Ray movie.  ]]></description><dc:creator><![CDATA[Fred]]></dc:creator><pubDate>Jul 4th 2008 10:24PM</pubDate></item><item><title><![CDATA[Comments on 87% of PlayStation 3 owners watching Blu-ray movies? I don't buy movies, I rent from Netflix and I don't buy PS3 games, I rent them. I own a few Blu-ray titles, and I rent from Netflix (only Blu-ray, no DVD).  I have only played 2 games on my PS3 (not counting demos), Resistance (borrowed) and GOW2 (PS2).  And that was last year. While I still watch my fair share of BD movies I really enjoy all the games and content available on the PS3.<br><br>I just ordered a Roku Netfilx player. I don't even use my Samsung Blu-Ray player any more, its just too fussy and slow. I think of my Xbox 360 as a game machine that plays my 30+ HDDVDs. I even bought an extra player for it in case my other one breaks. The real question is, How many people that own a PS3 have an HDTV to play the PS3 on. I bet you that of those 87%, not all have  an HDTV, so they are probably watching Blu-Ray movies in SD.  So why in the world did they buy a PS3 in the first place, let alone watching Blu-Ray movies in SD. Also, I hear this a lot.  Some people say, I can't see the difference between DVD and Blu-Ray.  Then I ask myself.  But you can see the difference betwen 1080i and 1080p. You paid extra money for something you can't see.  This point was brought up in the last Podcast. People pay premiuim for the things they can not see (1080p), but will will not invest money into PS3 or Blu-Ray player, which even a blind man can see the difference between. Maybe they don't like to see a $400.00 price tag. Then all of a sudden, what they have is good enough. Not for long.
