I bought a P5000 for my wife and not until months later while on a trip did I learn how long it took to record a moderately sized image. Take a look at Canon's site. The body is the same. The button layout is the same. Its chip size is the same as that of the Fuji f30 but has twice the pixels. To me this is a G9 with a wide angle lens (yay). <br><br>The only thing better than this is if someone started using bigger sensors in compacts. Yes, Nikon was leading the way with point and shoots, but as we all know, technology has a way of making the manufacturers play 'catch-up' with each other. The sensor should be the one in the Sony W300, that has a good review in Luminous Landscape web site.   The style is similar to the P5000 with a more industrial look (from 80's).   The previous Nikkor lens from the P5000/P3/P4/P2/P1 was a vewry good one, I hope this was as good or bettre than this lens.    <br><br>Nikon made excellent SRL/DSRL but their compact cameras are sometime trash, sometimes good.  Their first digital compacts were some of the best cameras in these years, but the when they changed to the have the DSRL as their main cameras line, most of their compacts seems to be done by other companies and even the optics were not at the level one may expect from Nikon tradition.
