Definitively something to try out one day. The idea of having it at a LAN party would be the key element. (I mean, at least use it to power whatever is needed. We [group of friends from my technical past] never used USB that much for that type of experience.

It was a joke. obviously some people dont understand humor.

And actually to correct you they are not "Kernel GUI's" they are "Desktop environments." that run along with the X server and a window manager "window maker, Metacity, Compiz,, to name a few" provide a "GUI" interface. The Linux Kernel itself does not have a GUI so there are no "Kernal GUI's".

So to clear it up, X and a Window manager are the GUI and GNOME/KDE are the "Desktop Environment" that run on x with a window manager.

oh and its Gnome not Knome.
