Kodak EasyShare M1093 IS camera rolls in late

We're not sure why Kodak saw fit to announce the EasyShare M1093 IS camera separately from the slew of new gear it dropped early this morning, but here it is, all $199 and 10 megapixels of it. Nothing too spectacular here apart from Smart Capture, which intelligently adjusts settings based on the scene, but you're getting an image stabilizer, ISO 3200 sensitivity, and an optional HDTV dock for two bills, so it's not a bad deal -- just don't expect your socks to be rocked. Available in September.

The v800 is pretty bad ass for a point and shoot aswell. This one looks like it might have lost some bulkiness, so kudos.

Okay, sorry, but ISO 3200?
You've got to be kidding me.
Only medium to high-end SLRs can pull that off with usable photos (e.g., Canon 40D has this as a special function; Canon 5D has it as a standard option).
I'd really like to see an example photo with this at ISO 3200.

Stew- the ISO3200 is a special function on both the 40D and 5D (you turn on ISO EXPANSION, on the 5D you additionally get ISO50 as well as ISO 3200).
Sample of a P.S. camera Panasonic Lumix tz5 @ ISO3200 2MP....yes it has lost all the fine detail but you have to think about the audience.

I took this smaple pic and in PS and applied some local contrast processing USM (25,100) , and sharpened with USM (100, 1.5), increased the exposure a bit and ran it through Noiseware and the improvement was 1000 times better.
Most people including myself would be fine with this @ ISO3200.
The #1 rule is know your audience. Most people (consumer level) take pics and post them online on MySpace or flickr or print them as 4x6 and 5x7. They also don't really know what good detail really looks like.
I own a 40D and 400D (XTi) and believe me sometimes I just want something small to fit in my pocket. Of course I'd probably go for a G9 which is great (+ you get RAW capabilities).
