I already forked over £9.99 for the January upgrade - there's no friggin chance I'm going to repeat this every few months... just to have the update free in the following pack.

What additionally killed my altruism and motivated my piracy was the MobileMe fiasco - the down time really fudged with my work as I was trying to retrieve files from idisk. Thanks a bunch for the screwup - hey how about next time try dovetailing the services over instead of using the same servers...? This shit/fan interaction actually cost me more than £10, but who do I go to complain about that? Oh, the freakin' brick wall? Right-o...

As a (now former) iPod touch owner, good on the people that won't be paying for this upgrade. The January software update was ridiculous enough of a price tag and this is just double-hitting the people that bought the iPod touch at launch.
