I found that Fujitsu is a great brand. They are the leader in making pen-sensitive displays and have been doing it forever, even before Windows supported a tablet mode. Their computers have a very good fit-and-finish, they feel strong, they are fully featured but still light, and they have excellent specs. They are a bit more expensive than average, though.

I bought the T4010 (a predecessor to the above mentioned T5010), and I have been very happy with it. It has never had any problems and I even dropped it once from table height by accident, but the computer kept on humming. I highly recommend Fujitsu.

Mike

Comments on Fujitsu keeps the Centrino 2 party going with six new LifeBooks

I'm writing now to ask if there's any news of a successor to the 1610, which was the 1510's successor.

@ShadowKain: Fujitsu's brand recognition in the US doesn't match its reliability and its popularity outside the US. I've got a 1510 and it's excellent. The 1610's even better -- with more screen area. Great tablet, and amazing (7 hour) battery life with the extended battery. Super light, as laptops go.

Marc
