Do NOT buy anything thinking TSA Approved means anything at all. I bought a pair of TSA Approved Timberland Shoes (still have the box, TSA Approved stamp, etc.) so I wouldn't have to do the shoe bit in the Airport. Guess what? Does NOT mean anything! I even took the stamp through, brochure, etc once and they said it doesn't matter. Its all a load of rubbish. TSA sells this stamp to vendors, then still makes end user jump through hoops! Win-Win for TSA, until someone sues the vendor who then has to sue TSA.

midosm.com

Comments on Mobile Edge intros TSA-approved ScanFast laptop bags

Sounds like a class-action suit to me. The 10 people behind you see this and assume their bags are OK too then they argue when the security guy hassles them over their laptops. The line gets held up why the TSA agents try to explain about "TSA approved" bags and what makes them so special compared to regular bags.

Scenario 2: All of the bags, approved or not, look the same: black, rectangular nylon cases. The TSA agent decides it's easiest to just make everyone take out their laptops. You try to tell him that there is an "approved" logo stitched into some obscure corner of the bag, which he refuses to bother himself to look for. So out comes your laptop.

Scenario 3: TSA agent gets tired of trying to tell the difference between the two kinds and arguing with the people in line, so he lets them all through.

parki

Comments on Mobile Edge intros TSA-approved ScanFast laptop bags

If you want a good quality laptop carrying bag at affordable prices then check this out.

http://www.bestmatchcomputers.com/notebook-computer-bags-and-cases_c386/

kenpachi

Comments on Mobile Edge intros TSA-approved ScanFast laptop bags

Just to clarify, I work for Mobile Edge and personally went to the TSA to test these new laptop cases. It's not the road warriors that create problems at airports. I don't mind pulling out my laptop and taking off my shoes.. I've basically got it down to a science by now.
