When it comes to apple products, if you even just remove the crazy packaging off the products you could save 10 bucks right there. A more organized desk than a bunch of loose USB cables laying around?

Not a big deal, and I don't use the dock on all my devices, but I can think of reasons why people would prefer them over a loose cable.
