Willcom D4 MID gets unboxed, all four pre-orders ship out

Okay, so maybe there are more than just four lost souls who are jonesing for Willcom's D4 MID, and if you're waving your hands frantically in a futile attempt to express your love for said device, you can reportedly expect to see one headed your way soon. A bit off topic from the article:

This place is going down hill fast (talking about the comments, not the articles, that is a different argument). Every article now has a First!!1!11 - and in this instance, two of them from the same idiot who has to even respond to his own post. You have some teenie posting racial slurs that do not get removed. That same person using this place to post pictures of his underage "girlfriend" telling people to "jack off" to the pictures (which the legality of it is called into question).

There were always disagreements by commentors about how many articles one product should receive, but now it is getting to the point where this web site is turning into a pathetic joke. And the Engadget writers seems to be enjoying watching it spiraling down into a pit.

you beat me to it. i was almost about to write a post like this.

i agree totally. in addition to the sudden increase of "first posts" some people are just being stupid. they try to fail on purpose (at least i hope so). and its bringing down engadget. engadget writers need to pay closer attention to the comments on their articles. some commentors just need to be banned. such as "supersexyerik", "ocean", "steffen jobbs" and more.

even some engadget readers have volunteered to monitor comments (for instance, rock something.... i don't remember the actual name, sorry.) engadget either needs to step up their efforts, hire a full time comment moderator, or take advantage of the good readers of engadget. they have good suggestions (one suggested a 24hr wait time on new accounts, once again i forget who, sorry)

of course, by replying to the stupid commentors and yelling at them, we are just letting them win. they like the negative attention, and just do it more. so if you see a stupid comment, just ignore it and move on.

take a page out of the gawker networks book, bring out the banhammer. have ban mondays. whatever it takes to clean up engadget.

Oh I really want one of these. Too bad I just bought a new laptop like 3 weeks ago. Maybe when the NA version comes out I'll get one anyway. Use it for a cell over Skype and it runs Vista! Unless the Sony UX gets a better processor, then I'd get that.

This is the best UIMPC so far! Finally a jacket pocket size UMPC that is both a clamshell and slider! fyi, Pocketables.net has some great initial tests on it; they have a 14 minute video showing it runs Vista with no problems, with 10 web pages at once, and also 4 programs with no issues at all! They are waiting to do a complete review when the 4-5 hour extended battery arrives.

I am waiting for that review too as I would buy one as long as the battery does in fact last 4 hours!
